Federal Government Agency

The Challenge

The client faced several persistent issues:

  • Disconnect between long-term strategic plans and annual budget execution, especially across the 5–7 year planning horizon.
  • Difficulty tracking fiscal year budget requirements from initial planning through to execution, including identifying and reallocating excess funds.
  • Manual, time-consuming responses to Congressional budget queries from the Senate and House Armed Services Committees.

Our Approach

We implemented a solution that maximized the use of Microsoft applications and embedded AI capabilities, avoiding the need for costly new platforms:

  • Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) was used to collect, track, and audit requirements.
  • Automated workflows were introduced to improve tracking, notifications, and awareness across departments.
  • Real-time dashboards provided visibility into expenditures and available excess funds for reallocation.

The Results

The impact was both measurable and transformative:

  • Achieved near 100% execution of budgetary allocations, meeting Congressionally mandated benchmarks and avoiding penalties.
  • Enabled multi-departmental collaboration by linking spend plans to live execution data.
  • Recovered and reallocated multi-million-dollar excesses, optimizing resource use.
  • Provided decision-making space for leaders and analysts through timely, data-driven insights.
  • Delivered concise, auditable responses to Congressional inquiries, backed by real-time data.

Large Financial Services Firm

The Challenge

The client faced several persistent issues:

  • Lack of foundational tools to define end to end accountability and measurements to enable scale and consistency across the organization
  • Establishment of process life cycle practices for standardization and increased transparency
  • Data driven process improvement framework to eliminate complexity and reduce risk

Our Approach

Four phase program established to 

  • Create queryable repository of process loads and data mapped to resources
  • Process engineering culture and community of excellence 
  • Multiple maturity work streams  and work stream champions established to drive change organization wide 

The Results

The impact was both measurable and transformative:

  • Purpose built process inventory to capture over 1,000 individual processes
  • Senior leader view and understanding of true cost of operation and leveraging strengths to provide organizations clients with better products and services
  • Reduction in risk by eliminating and replacing several hundred user defined technologies
